Basil

Basil is known for it's use in the kitchen as a spice for cooking but it can also be used for magical purposes. Basil can be strewn on floors to purify a home. It can bring luck to people moving into a new home. Potted basil plants given as a gift guarantees good fortune. Magically, basil can be used in love magic and in love divination. Basil can also be used to guarantee fidelity or detect the lack of it.

Lavender

The use of lavender has been documented for thousands of years. Lavender is often associated with love spells, as well as for bringing calmness and peace. To bring love to you, carry lavender flowers in a sachet on your person, or hang stalks of lavender in your home. To get a good night's sleep stuff a pillow with sprigs of lavender. It can also be used in a purifying bath or in a smudging ritual.

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is used in magic for protection and luck. In Jamaica, the ancient magic of Obeah is practiced. If someone gets sick they will go to an Obeah man or mother and a bath is prepared using Aloe Vera to ward off evil spirits that may be invading the body causing the sickness. This method is also used in other spiritual beliefs for warding off evil.

Dill

Dill is used for protection if hung at the door or placed in protective sachets. It can be eaten to stimulate lust and is used in money spells so when you need a little luck just add some Dill to your bath.
